Hi!

I'm Mika (he/they), aka foxprism, a Game Art & Design graduate from Germany, specializing in character design and illustration.I enjoy creating characters and game assets that feel cohesive and alive, especially in narrative-driven projects. Alongside my 2D work, I have experience developing visual novels in Ren'Py using Python, as well as working with stylized 3D.I'm particularly interested in contributing to indie projects where I can work across different aspects of game art.

RADIO SILENCE

Video

"Radio Silence" is a serious game prototype developed by Sophie Shumilov, Maximilian Schiller, Nicole Riedel, Bianca Bucher and myself for our semester's uni project in summer 2025.It's a narrative decision-making game in the style of Telltale's The Walking Dead, portraying the everyday life of a young person in a fictional, increasingly right-wing radicalized society. In a world where hate becomes political currency and the media, once the fourth democratic power, degenerates into a mouthpiece for conservative hate speech, our main character fights daily for his or her humanity. The idea was that the game has two main characters, a younger person, still in school, actively experiencing the changes in their environment, and an adult, working for a public broadcaster, responsible for the production and dissemination of hate speech; decisions would therefore affect the first character. Between microaggressions, social exclusion, and the constant threat of physical violence, the question arises: How do you maintain your humanity in a system that dehumanizes you?The players' decisions affect not only the life of the main character, but also that of their family, friends, and the last remaining allies. With each choice, the game confronts players with the real consequences of political radicalization, propaganda, and social stagnation and poses a central question: How far would you go to defend your dignity? For the game I modelled and textured the assets of the room of the girl protagonist Kali.

VIRUS VORTEX

Video

"Virus Vortex" is a Visual Novel prototype with a cyberpunk setting made by Lua Timmermann and myself for our uni project with a self-chosen focus. The concept of Virus Vortex actually emerged from our older projects. The setting and several of the characters come from my (Mika's) application portfolio for uni, and another character is from Lua's own characters. Since nothing "interesting" had come of these concepts up to that point, but we found them very appealing, we decided to turn them into a visual novel. The visual novel is set in a dystopian cyberpunk world, or rather, a futuristic city. As is typical with visual novels, it has different endings depending on the decisions you make within the game.I did the programming part for this prototype with Ren'Py, as well as chosen some of the music tracks and sound effects, drawn concept art and provided backstories for my characters, made character sheets and drew some of the sprites and backgrounds.

CAVITY CRUSADER

"Cavity Crusader - Tooth and Justice" is a uni project developed by Sophie Shumilov, Anna Kahlisch and myself. In our "Handmade Games" course, the topic was to develop a game based on photogrammetry/scanning handcrafted assets, such as those made of paper or wood, and integrating them into the game engine. Our idea was to create a 2.5D platformer and side-scroller with jump-and-run mechanics. With the paper look, we chose a very playful design and thus also a rather playful theme: a jump-and-run game in which you play as the tooth knight "Sir Sweet Tooth." You run through the levels and have to fight against candy enemies that threaten our knight's kingdom.I made many of the paper assets from origami paper that I cut and glued together, drew the title screen and did some level design and was generally involved in the game design of the prototype.

CATTUCCINO

Video

"Cattuccino" is a mobile game prototype made for the topic of “job simulators”. We were supposed to make a game related to the tasks in a day to day job and I chose to make a café/cooking game with drag and drop mechanics. The color scheme is warm and cozy and the lofi music in the back as well with the asmr-ish sound effects make the player relax. If I were to keep developing the game I would have added customer reviews that you could unlock with several recipes, as well as a visual novel story at the side. The concept of the café is a “host café” inspired by those in Japan and I wanted to present everything in an overly cute way, including the food and the names of potential dishes. I planned on using a lot of puns to allude to cats and dogs, when coming with ideas, which is how the name of the prototype was made – “Cattuccino” – a mixture of cat and cappuccino.
